The pop star will feature in a music video with Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt, composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman
Kylie Minogue may be in Mumbai in the coming months If things go as planned, international pop sensation Kylie Minogue will be in Mumbai in the coming months to shoot a music video with Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt. Kylie has already recorded the song for the video in London about two weeks back.
Composed by AR Rahman, the pop star has sung for the film Blue, reportedly the costliest Bollywood film in the making with a budget hovering around Rs140 crore.
After Hrs had broken the story (on December 7) that Kylie had agreed to sing for Rahman and had even given dates to meet the music composer in London. This is the first time that an A-list pop star is singing for a Bollywood film.
"Kylie liked the tracks scored by Rahman immensely and wanted to record immediately. It's a very peppy number with an international feel to it. Rahman has scored the song keeping Kylie and her singing style in mind," says a source.
Kylie attended the rehearsals and recorded the song between February 8-10 at her music studio in London. "She has sung two tracks for the film. One is a solo number that will be the promotional video of the film and the other is a duet with Sonu Nigam. Sonu's tracks were recorded in Mumbai and were sent over to her. She heard the tracks and sang along with him. The two tracks will be mixed in Mumbai. This is the track that will be used in the film," the source adds.
Sonu confirmed that he had sung for the film, but said that he is under contract not to speak about the details. The director of the film, Anthony D'Souza, added that a formal announcement will be made when Kylie lands in Mumbai.
