Press release for the Aphrodite Les Folies DVD/Blu-ray release

KYLIE
APHRODITE LES FOLIES
LIVE IN LONDON

“The pop princess set a new benchmark for arena shows with Les Folies and redefined the term ‘spectacular’ along the way” – Daily Star

CD/DVD & 2D/3D BLU-RAY RELEASED NOVEMBER 28th

Parlophone will release Kylie’s amazing performance ‘Aphrodite - Les Folies’, filmed live at London’s O2 Arena last April, on CD, DVD and Blu-ray on November 28th. The tour was Kylie’s most ambitious and spectacular to date and the DVD footage, filmed over 2 nights, captures the show at its absolute peak. Directed by William Baker and Marcus Viner, all formats also feature an exclusive tour documentary.

The ultra theatrical tour was devised with Kylie’s creative director, William Baker and toured 5 continents, 27 countries, 55 cities, 77 shows, with 150 days on the road, 85,000km travelled and audience numbers in excess of 575,000.

With costumes created exclusively for Kylie by Dolce & Gabbana, the stage show followed an enchanting Greek mythology theme, and featured an astonishing water finale. This was a show that truly redefined what a pop concert could be.

Acclaim for Aphrodite: Les Folies

“A dazzling fashion-fabulous spectacle…a show so extraordinarily extravagant and spectacularly indulgent…Kylie was stupendous!” – Sunday Times

“Kylie Minogue is not just a pop star any more, she is a veritable goddess” – The Telegraph

It was the graceful, breathtaking and unforgettable highlight of a show that saw this modern Aphrodite secure her legendary status” – Evening Standard

“Bigger, better, bolder, camper and brighter than any of Minogue’s previous shows…not to be missed” – Sunday Telegraph

Feels like heaven in your arms...

Hands down without a doubt my favorite song from Aphrodite and it definitely should have been a single instead of Better Than Today. :(

Can't wait for the Bluray/DVD to come out!

Yes I went MIA for a bit there...

New updates will be coming and a new layout later on this week. Nothing much has been happening in Kylie world besides the premiere of Aphrodite Les Folies in 3D and the television broadcast. Right now Kylie has just finished up the Australian leg of the tour and is now on the Asian leg with the tour finally wrapping up in South Africa. It will be bittersweet when it's finished because this has hands down been one of my favorite Kylie eras. :)))

Ta ta for now and keep checking back for updates!

Kylie at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards!

Goddess Kylie attended the Billboard Music Awards last night looking absolutely stunning. The red carpet look she sported was a cute black dress with some fierce pumps and she literally almost stole the show with the outfit she wore when presenting the Black Eyed Peas. She might be turning 43 but she's still got a very hot figure. Bitch is still putting all of the younger pop whores to shame!

Mexico is crazy for Kylie!

Kylie is currently in Mexico for a 3 date jaunt that hits Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. This is Kylie's first time touring in Mexico and people seem to be really eating it all up, hopefully this means she will definitely tour there again in the future.

Billboard.com reviews 'Aphrodite Live 2011'

http://www.billboard.com/events/kylie-minogue-brings-aphrodite-spectacle

For the unaware U.S. pop fan, Kylie Minogue's first show of a three-night run at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom would appear to be an overindulgent spectacle. A two-hour running time, multiple costume changes, a golden Pegasus on stage and half-naked dancers suspended in air -- isn't this the "Loco-Motion" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" two-hit wonder?
http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Of course, Minogue's faithful know better, and were out in droves on Monday night (May 2) to celebrate an international star whose back catalog has never received its deserving embrace from the stateside mainstream.

Yes, Minogue played "Can't Get You Out of My Head" (with a crunchy rock twist, no less), but the set list was littered with equally infectious dance tracks, from "In My Arms" to "Wow," to which her diehard fans knew every word. It also leaned heavily on Minogue's last album, 2010's "Aphrodite," but the epic "Looking For an Angel" and triumphant set-capper "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)" fit in nicely with the rest of Minogue's oeuvre. "All The Lovers," which Minogue used to close the night as confetti rained upon the crowd, transformed from an uneven album opener to an unstoppable anthem within the blink of an eye.

As much as the songs popped, Minogue was buoyed by an eye-catching set design that involved a trio of staircases, huge white pillars and a massive HD video screen that showed images like raindrops in the shape of hearts. Each song carried its own clever theme, with dancers dressed as Roman warriors during one song and Arabian slaves the next.

Minogue, to her credit, kept pace with the theatrics, gyrating alongside her backup dancers and forcing the high notes to hit the rafters. Monday night proved that, at 42, Minogue is still an under-appreciated musical force, and one that should not be missed on an all-too-rare U.S. trek.

Aphrodite has risen!

Well with X2008 we thought there was no way Kylie could top herself but she has yet done it again. Watching the videos on youtube and looking at pictures from the concert makes me wish I could sale all of my belongs just go see the 'Les Folies' version of the tour with the excellent fountains of water. I'll make do with seeing her in Washington, DC in April though. I'm certainly about as wet right now as those people who were in the splash zone.

Kylie for VS Magazine

Kylie up to #16 on US VH1's Top 20 video countdown!

In it's fourth week on VH1's top 20 countdown 'Get Outta My Way' has risen to #16 and hopefully will continue to rise in the coming weeks. It will only climb if we continue to vote. Hopefully it will eventually hit the top 10 so keep up the voting!

Random 'Aphrodite' promo performance post

Besides the Germany's Next Top Model performance of 'All The Lovers' and X Factor performance of 'Better Than Today' the megamix that Kylie performed at the EXA concert in Mexico is definitely up there as one of my faves from the era. Clocking in at around half an hour I find myself extremely jealous of the Mexican fans who got to see it live!

Vote for Get Outta My Way on US VH1'S Top 20 Video countdown!

The video first made the top 20 two weeks ago entering in at #20 and last week it moved up one spot to #19. The video for Get Outta My Way has since been playlisted by VH1 and MTV Hits. It's nothing too major but it means more exposure for Kylie in the US which is great with the tour coming here in the Spring.

Be sure to vote for the video!
